Should I take a cruise to the Caribbean in late August or just go to Cancun for week?

Have never taken a cruise and want to go for our 20 wedding anniversy. Or should we just book a week at a hotel down there somewhere? Is this a bad idea? Is Hurricane season olver? Want an all inclusive, including liquor, which ever route we take. Don't really care about going to different ports we just like beaches and water. What is best way to go and least expensive. INcluding airfare.

Late August is pretty much the height of the Hurricane season. If your time is fixed then I would suggest a cruise. They can at least move out of the path of a hurricane even though you may get a little bit of bumpy weather on the way. The great thing is the weather after a Hurricane, it clears up very quickly.

As Kerplode mentioned the inclusive drinks may be hard to come by but keep searching. Most of the cruise packages are listed as all inclusive but this does not seem to be the same as a resort based all inclusive. We went on a cruise for our 25th and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Packages are available with most agents including transfers (airport to ship) and the best prices will be available on the net.

I've never heard of a cruise including liquor in the price. Food is covered, but only water, tea, juice, and coffee are free as far as beverages are concerned. I've taken two cruises (Royal Car. and Carnival) and both charged for soda, so I imagine they'd charge for liquor too.

However, I LOVE cruises.
